What is the Ramsey Rescue Squad Explorer Program?

​

The goals of the Ramsey Rescue Squad Explorer Program are:

• To educate young adults in concepts and training involved in various aspects of the emergency services (Heavy Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, EMS, +)
• To prepare them for a future in the emergency services

• To aid the Fire Department in all possible ways

• To build character in our young adults
• To foster our youth to become contributing members of their community
• To develop an appreciation for volunteerism in our youth and our community

 

We are very focused on positive youth development and these qualities will be carried with them for their lifetime and will benefit them and their community for years to come, be it in Ramsey or elsewhere. The tangible and intangible benefits and rewards of being a Squadman on the Ramsey Rescue Squad are significant.​

How old do I need to be to join the Explorer Program?

 

Participants in the explorer program must be at least 14 years old in order to be considered for membership.

What happens when I become 16?

You have the opportunity to change classes of membership to a full riding member with the Ramsey Rescue Squad!

​

Are there any pre-requistie trainings like CPR, or First Aid?

Nope! Absolutley no training or knowledge required.
